この単語帳の考え方。 SATは辞書的な定義をほとんど聞いてきません。文を見せて、どの語がそこに合うかを聞いてきます。だから語ごとに必要なのは二つだけです。よい意味かわるい意味か、そしてどのくらい強いか。 disparage と vilify はどちらも「批判する」ですが、容赦ないのは片方だけです。 そこさえ合っていれば、意味の記憶がぼんやりしていても多くの問題は解けます。
991語を、A–Z順ではなく意味の38テーマに分けてあります。 「人をほめる語」は全部ひとところに、「頑固さ」の語も全部ひとところに。 1回に1テーマ、が現実的な量です。 暗記カードは思い出せなかった語ほど何度も戻ってくるようにしてあります。
